The English teacher in me
The old saw is that old soldiers do not die; they simply fade away. It comes from General Douglas MacArthur. Here is my version: old English teachers do not die; they simply go on correcting errors when they spy them.

When I logged into LiveJournal yesterday, the prompt of the day asked what grammar error drove us crazy. Trouble was that the word they used was 'GRAMMER."

But, what error makes me nuts other than misspellings? The use of apostrophes, especially when they are used to form plurals.

Happy Friday, everyone!
