Seeing Stars

Here is a link the a list of the books receiving starred reviews thus far this year:

While starred reviews are not the be-all-and-end-all, they do offer one place to begin winnowing down the TBR stacks that threaten to fall and bury readers.

I have read more than 100 of these titles and may others that have received no stars. Each one has been a book that has added to my life as a reader and to my reading identity. Often I am amazed at the complexity, the intricacy, the artistry of what I am reading. And I am also thrilled to find a simple, warm, humorous book, too. I need a variety of books in the same way I need a variety of foods in order to be nourished as a reader.
