picture book redux
I grabbed my copy of Flotsam, the 2007 Caldecott Medal winner to read once again before heading to Dallas. Actually, I ended up packing it so I could show some of it during my workshop tomorrow. I love David Wiesner (and I understand I am not alone) and this book just reinforces the fact that he is a genius at making picture books tell stories without using a word. Of course there are references (visually) to other books such as SECTOR 7 and THE THREE PIGS and others. I adore it. Surely this is one picture book perfect for sharing with older readers as well along with NOT A BOX.
