meet and greet and meet

I am enjoying Day 2 of the Iowa Council of Teachers of English conference. Yesterday, I had the chance to meet so many early career teachers who are optimistic about the classroom and teaching. Scattered among the new teachers were some more experienced folks. I enjoyed talking to both groups. The new teachers infuse me with their passion and enthusiasm. Seeing folks who have been around as long as I have does the same. We are still here. We still care. And now we are reaching out to those new-ish teachers and sharing some of our memories and wisdom from the past.

I love attending these conferences becauseI see how connected we all are. Connections. Human connection. That keeps me going strong.
