Knowledge is Power

Since this is National Library Week and since many libraries field challenges to books and other materials, it seemed like a good time to point everyone in the direction of some things they might need to know in order to SpeakLoudly against censorship, banning, and challenges. So, here are some items with which you should be familiar. Why not think about passing this information along to colleagues this week to make them aware of the need for each and every one of us to protect THE RIGHT TO READ?

This is just a basic list of sites. It would be good, however, to post the Bill of Rights and Right to Read and Freedom to Read statements prominently in your classroom, school, library. office. And it is incredibly important to know about groups that seek to ban or restrict access to books and other materials as well. Knowledge is Power!
