musings from a rainy day
There has been a lot of reaction lately about my blog. Author Cynthia Leitich Smith (http://cynthialeitichsmith.blogspot.com/) blogged about my blog. Of course, she might be just a little prejudiced since I say nice things about hubby Greg's new book TOFU AND T REX. If you want to visit a web site with TONS of info about writers for children and YAs, check out Leitich Smith's incredible site: http://cynthialeitichsmith.blogspot.com/ Someday, I want to be Cyn.
Finished reading Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy. Forget the awful cover and dive into this one, folks. I wept out loud at the end of this unforgettable story. I finally finished reading my bathroom book (more about this later), ESCAPING TORNADO SEASON by Julie Williams. It is a novel in verse that speaks about racism, friendship, loss, and renewal. Very powerful.
Must get back to work on an article on the importance of reading aloud.
