so sad

The local news is reporting on a school where a sixth grader checked out one of Gary Paulsen's adult books and took it home. Mom and Dad were not too happy with it and have now copied off pages and are demanding a change in how books are screened for the school library. The district caved and is now taking books off the shelves while they are being "reconsidered". Add to that the fact that NO kid can check out a book from any of the district's libraries until this thing is settled, and it is just plain sad for all involved.
