I know, I know: there are countless versions of this book already out there including the wonderful movable version by Paul Zelinsky. What makes this one different? Simple, it takes the basis lyrics and adapts them to the setting: a jungle. In Jane Cabrera's THE WHEELS ON THE BUS (Holiday House, August 2011), different animals board the bus. So, the lions on the bus go ROAR, ROAR, ROAR. And the monkeys and the flamingos and the rest of this merry tribe of beasts all have their own verses as the bus travels through to the final stop. Wonderful to read aloud and to sing aloud as well. Kids can certainly add on some verses for other animals, too.
