THE FROG PRINCE, A RETELLING OF THE GRIMM'S FAIRY TALE by Eric Blair (Picture Window Books 2010) is part of the First Classic Story collection. It is a simple retelling of the story perfect for toddlers. <482>

Two friends part ways when each opens a rival snow cone stand in THE BATTLE OF THE SNOW CONES by Lupe Ruiz-Flores with illustrations by Alisha Gambino (Pinata Books 2010). Text is in English and Spanish. <483>

GRANDMA'S CHOCOLATE by Mara Price with illustrations by Lisa Fields (Pinata Books 2010) is not just the story of a loving relationship between a grandmother and her granddaughter, it is also a wonderful story about Mayan and Aztec culture. Text is in English and Spanish. <484>

GARAGE TALES by David Shannon, Loren Long, and David Gordon (Simon and Schuster 2010) is part of Jon Scieszka's Trucktown series. This is a compilation of stories about the various inhabitants of Trucktown including an ice cream truck named Gabriella who reminds me of the geese from CHARLOTTE'S WEB (I know I am tired but thrust me when I say there is a connection). <485>

OLLIE AND MOON (Random House 2011) are best friends. In this adventure by Diane Kredensor they travel across Paris in their escapades. Cartoon drawings are superimposed on photographs to blur the lines between real and imaginary. <486>

For your daily dose of "Aw!", try ZOOBORNS: ZOO BABIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD by Andrew Bleiman with photographs by Chris Eastland (Beach Lane 2010). The animals are endangered ones and there is a wonderful appendix that gives lots of information for readers included. <487>
