I am not just speakingloudly, I am reading too!

I fell in love with Natalie Standiford last year when I read HOW TO SAY GOODBYE IN ROBOT. It was such a nuanced book with intriguing characters who just broke the mold and came alive. Now, Standiford offers readers THE CONFESSIONS OF THE SULLIVAN SISTERS (Scholastic 2010). Once again, it is a story with remarkable characters, in this case three sisters who take turns telling their individual stories to their "Almighty" matriarch of a grandmother who has threatened to cut the family from her will unless someone fesses up to misdeeds. Each sister believes she is the one responsible for Almighty's current state of pique. So, Jane, Norrie, and Sassy each confess to their misdeeds in some particular detail. Their stories are funny, poignant, raucous, and heartfelt. <402>

If you have not read this book or HOW TO SAY GOODBYE IN ROBOT, do yourself a favor. And please pass these books along to teen readers, too. You might also want to check out Standiford on Twitter, after all her characters are out there on the social networks...
