When your name is John Lennon and your sister's name is Winsome, you know life has something a tad different it holds out for you. For John Lennon, who prefers to be called Beatle, it is a chance meeting one night at the train station. A girl, wearing sunglasses and reading. Her name: Destiny McCartney. Surely, there is something going on here?

What is going on is a wonderfully unique take on the teen romance genre. Beatle and his twin sister (born 45 days apart, another piece of the story) are taking math class from Destiny's brother. Later, Beatle learns of other connections, slightly more disturbing ones. Nothing is status quo here: not the characters, not the setting, nothing save the age old guy falls for a girl even though he is dating someone else (though why he is dating someone else is a whole other story). Funny, thoughtful, plus a crazy roller coaster plot that turns in on itself from time to time. What's not to love about this book? <316>

Off to talk to Aldine ISD librarians this morning about ladders and books. Then, home to actually prepare a meal this week and maybe even find time for a nap.
