short Picture Book Monday

I have spent most of the office time today grading (not completed but did make dent in it) and preparing materials for the fall semester (ditto). But I did manage this one:

I love Emily Gravett's work. DOGS (Simon and Schuster 2010) is no exception. Bouncy verse introduces readers to all sorts of dogs. Which dog does our outside (and unseen) narrator like best? That final page is where the story takes a nifty twist. Enjoy it.

Here is one of the photos of the resident of the back bedroom from her senior shoot last week. Most of you know I seldom post photos of the resident, but now that she has been captured for posterity, I am making an exception. Here is the resident with her letter jacket (and she would have me note that she does not have all of her letters on it yet, including the great big one she won for playing at state) and her flute.
