political content...you have been warned...

On the drive to the university this morning, I passed a car with several bumper stickers. One intrigued me more than the others. It read:

IF GUNS KILLS PEOPLE, DOES THAT MEAN PENCILS MISPELL (sic) WORDS?

Okay, folks, here is the reason why it does no good to engage someone like this in a debate. Look at the logic that equates a pencil not being responsible for sloppy spelling with a gun not being responsible for killing someone. This just does not compute on any level of logic and reasoning. Sure, take away those pencils before spelling errors bombard us. You will get my pencil when you pry it from my cold, dead hands. I have a constitutional right to a pencil and to use it however suits me. (Does that mean I can stab someone with it as long as I do not misspell with it?)

I will lay odds that you can guess which Presidential candidate this driver supported in the most recent election (even though it was only the name of his running mate that was visible as another sticker was placed over the Presidential candidate's name). This one beat the one we saw Saturday on the way to church that advertised a local shooting gallery and bore an Impeach Obama sticker next to a USMC sticker. I am getting whiplash reading all of the signs. Signs, signs, everywhere there's signs. Do this, don't do that. Can't you read the signs?

Rant over. More books to follow. Thanks for letting me vent my spleen (and possibly liver, too).
