Russell Freedman's THE WAR TO END ALL WARS (Clarion 2010) demonstrates his commitment to meticulous research as well as to articulate nonfiction writing for teens. My husband is currently absorbed in the book which does look a bit like a "coffee table" book with its larger format. Loads of photos and diagrams along with a detailed chronology of the steps leading up to war and the war itself, this book is one that will appeal to those readers who love books about topics such as war. It should also be brought to the attention of history teachers for use in their classrooms.
Here was my desk post-ALA. It looks better now though for how long...
Still rainy and overcast here. This has been perfect weather for reading for me and sleeping for Scout and Rocky.
