just a quick note

Greetings from rainy, windy, wet, and cold Chicago. Quite a change from Houston, I can tell you. International Reading Association conference is here. I managed to read the new John H. Ritter novel, UNDER THE BASEBALL MOON on the flight into Chicago yesterday. I want to take some time to write about it when I have Internet access in my room (which might not happen this trip--a comedy of errors to be sure), but I did want to let you all know it is absolutely magical and lyrical, in the figurative and literal senses, too.

In the meantime, I am wrapping up the reading of NICK AND NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST by Levithan and Cohn (loving every minute of it) and JUST IN CASE by Meg Rosoff (rollicking great opening chapters) while I am whiling away the time waiting for shuttles and cabs.

Off to dine with Bryan Collier tonight (sigh, someoine has to do these things) and will try to send more from IRA as time and Internet permit.
