the return of lawn boy

I love Gary Paulsen. I have never hidden the fact the I am a fan and cannot wait for another of his books to hit my desk. When I saw LAWN BOY RETURNS (Wendy Lamb Books, 2010), I knew I was in for a funny, warm, and quick read. It certainly was all that and a bag of chips. Last summer (and in the last installment)), Lawn Boy, age 12, finagled a broken down riding lawn mower into nearly a half million dollars. In LBR, there is, of course, trouble brewing. It begins with eh arrival of Zed who claims to be a long lost cousin of the prize fighter Lawn Boy sponsors. But Zed is the tip of the proverbial iceberg of disaster descending on Lawn Boy this summer. In short chapters bursting at the seams with quirky characters (I am rather partial to Grandma with her blazing red hair), unusual circumstances, good humor as well as the camaraderie Lawn Boy and his fellow middle school students share. I would love a third helping of Lawn Boy, please.
