thank you MASL
I seldom deliver a keynote address. I am more of the put me in front of a group with some books and let me go kind of person. But today I was the luncheon speaker for the Missouri Association of School Librarians Conference here in lovely Osage Beach, MO. Speaking to folks from the "show me state," did give me pause. I promised to do this 2 years ago. What was I thinking? I must have been thinking that they would love to hear someone tell them that much of what they do is spot on and important and actually underpinned by research. I did. They liked it, I think. The only thing I did not like was seeing myself on the Jumbo-Tron before the slides engaged. Where did that old fat woman come from and what is she doing with my body and voice?
Thanks, MASL, for making me feel welcome. I head out before dawn tomorrow to drive back to St. Louis and fly home. I take with me snapshots of beautiful scenery. I also take heartfelt memories of the warmth with which you received this ProfessorNana.
Here is a photo of the state flower/flowering tree from outside my window here at Tan-Tar-A Resort.
