Dear friends,

There are only few months left before the start of the next IBBY World Congress, which will be held in Santiago de Compostela from 8 to 12 September 2010 under the theme “The Strength of Minorities”. Therefore it is time to share the latest information about the Congress with you and to ask you to pass on the news to your members, friends and interested institutions.

To be always up-to-date, we suggest that you frequently visit the Congress website – www.ibbycompostela2010.org.

On the Congress website you will also find useful information to help you with your preparation of the practical aspects of your stay in Santiago, such as the organization of your travel and accommodation. Because 2010 is an important Holy Year for Santiago de Compostela a great number of pilgrims and other visitors will be staying in the city. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you make your hotel reservation as soon as possible. On the webpage you will also find the application for your Congress registration. The 10% early-bird registration discount is still available and applies to registrations paid before April 30th, 2010. We urge you to take advantage of this offer and remind you that the fees must be paid before midnight Central European Time (CET) on Friday, April 30th!

If you have any questions related to your attendance, regarding travel, accommodation or other issues, we are happy to help you. We hope that you will all come to Santiago de Compostela and together we shall make of this Congress an interesting and exciting event: full of enthusiasm, with old and new friends and the spirit that has enabled IBBY to work and grow for so many years.

We are looking forward to welcoming you all to Santiago de Compostela this September!
