Call for Editor(s) USBBY Newsletter
USBBY is seeking a new editor for the USBBY Newsletter. The present editor, Janelle Mathis, completes her term in Spring 2011. Interested persons should send a letter of application no later than May 1, 2010. The newsletter is sent out as a semi-annual publication for USBBY members to report on conferences and co-sponsored sessions, as well as general news and short articles related to international literature for children and young adults. Email announcements, short manuscripts, and press releases related to national and international children's literature are considered by the editor for publication in the newsletter.
The position is for a three-year term, beginning officially with the Fall 2011 issue; however, the new editor will assist the current editor in the transition of the editorship, beginning in Fall 2010.
Interested candidates may apply as individually or as a team. Applicant(s) must be members of USBBY. Submit a letter of application that includes the following:
· General qualifications in the field of international children’s literature
· Prior experiences with USBBY and/or IBBY
· Previous experiences writing, editing, and/or publishing in the field
· Vision for future directions for the USBBY Newsletter
· Technological expertise, including formatting for publication.
