"Telescopes," Colin A. Ronan

Ten books, six poems, and sixteen informational texts. I could spend pages here, but general observations will suffice I think. Some of the texts are not developmentally appropriate for this age group (some are too young and some too old). But, really, the more essential observation is this: here is the sum total of recommended books. Of the hundreds of thousands of books out there, this is it. I know this is not meant to be an all inclusive list, but we all know it will be just that. I am sick. I will post the middle school list separately. There is so much wrong with Common Standards. There is even more wrong with this list. Feel free to make your own observations.
