Evil Star

Anthony Horowitz is so incredibly popular with readers for his Alex Ryder series and this new Raven's Gate series is certain to attract even more legions of fans. EVIL STAR is book two of the series. However, I read it first and it did not pose any difficulty in my reading and loving it. Matt is 14 and one of the 5, a group of young people who must face down those who would bring evil into the world and destroy it. Matt travels to Peru and meets another of the 5, a young boy named Pedro who will play an important role in dealing with the threat of the Old Ones. Their travels lead them through many dangers and into the desert of the Nazca Lines. Non-stop action, terrific detail, interesting characters, and absorbing information about ancient civilizations all combine to make this a riveting read.
