I listened to THE DRAGON IN THE SOCK DRAWER by Kate Klimo the last couple of days. The narrator is Walter Mayes. It is like having Mayes sitting in the car with me as he reads the story of Jesse and Daisy who discover a dragon inside a thunder egg one day. Emmie (short for Emerald) is soon captured by Professor St. George who plans to drink her blood. This romp of a tween adventure is funny and fun and a great listen.
Had a wonderful morning with the folks at the Greater Houston Area Reading Council (GHARC) who built some new reading ladders with me. Long ago I was the prez of this group. Today some other former past leaders were there, too. But along with them were the next generation, college students. Warms my heart to see young AVID readers who are teachers and librarians, too.
