The final day of the conference opened with an announcement of the US nominations for the Hans Christian Andersen Award: Eric Carle and Walter Dean Myers. The IBBY Honour List of Books was described as well. Our nominees are: THE WEDNESDAY WARS, WE ARE THE SHIP, and GARMANN SUMMER. Today's agenda include presentations by Naomi Shihab Nye, Vladmir Radunsky, Klass Verplancke, and break out book discussion groups. I will hate to leave, but I am already planning on the 2011 IBBY Regional. Details about time and place will be forthcoming.
