jerry pinkney

Our booth is next to Little Brown, and the lovely and talented Victoria Stapleton handed me an F&G of Jerry Pinkney's THE LION AND THE MOUSE. It is textless save for some animal noises. Set on the Serengeti, this incredibly detailed and absolutely lovely book retells one of Aesop's fables without any words. No mean feat, but Pinkney's illustrations speak volumes. Cannot show the cover as it is not available yet. It is due out in September.
