some nonfiction, perhaps?

Let's end today with some nonfiction selections.

Nic Bishop's books are riveting. The photos are incredibly detailed, and the text is informative without being dry at all. I love the butterfly exhibit we have in Houston at the museum and have been there every time I can talk someone else into going with me. They are endlessly fascinating as are the albino iguanas who wander the exhibit as well. (Scholastic, 2009)

Here is the true story of Annette Kellerman who swam the English Channel, performed for heads of state and was arrested for wearing a bathing suit that was too revealing (in Boston, where else?). Splashy colors and text that swims on the pages combine for a wonderful biography.
