some final books
Mo Willems continues the trials and tribulations of elephant and piggie in ELEPHANTS CANNOT DANCE (Hyperion, 2009). Piggie tries with all her might to teach Gerald the elephant to dance. It is not an easy task for, as it says on page 11 of WHAT ELEPHANTS CAN DO, elephants cannot dance. However, even the hapless Gerald finds some success in this book for young readers.
Jon Agree gives us some tongue-twisting poems in ORANGUTAN TONGS: POEMS TO TANGLE YOUR TONGUE (Hyperion, 2009). A moose who likes muesli, wristwatches for Mitch that are Swiss, surly soldiers, and two tree toads are just a few of the funny poems that will challenge readers when they attempt to read them out loud.
