Christmas comes earlier every year
I have noticed that most of the stores are already gearing up for Christmas. I liked it better when that happened after Thanksgiving, but nowadays it does not even wait for Halloween. Oh well, here are two Christmas books.
DECK THE HALLS contains the lyrics of the song illustrated with pieces of works by Norman Rockwell. I am not certain of the kid appeal, but I do kmow people my parents' age will love it.
Here is the Christmas book for younger readers. Near Christmas, a family finds a reindeer slumped on the ground near their home. They take him inside and nurse him back to health. In exchange, Santa sends a special gift to the family. Beautiful illustrations with an almost hazy film of snowfall that glistens accompanies the poetic text.
