National Book Award finalists announced

Congrats to our LJ friend Laurie Halse Anderson in being named as a finalist for the National Book Award for CHAINS. I am thrilled to see a few other books there, too, especially my pal Kathi Appelt's THE UNDERNEATH. Ditto E. Lockhart's THE DISREPUTABLE HISTORY OF FRANKIE LANDAU BANKS. For once, I have read a few of the books that are on the list.
