leaving SLC
I have so enjoyed my time here in Utah and the ALSC Institute. Last night I got to meet Sara Zarr: she rocks! I signed a few copies of Naked Reading (they sold out but I suspect they did not have that many to start with) and enjoyed the view from the rooftop of the public library. Wow!!! Here are the only 2 photos from the phone that are clear enough, I think.
This is the SLC Public Library from across the street. It is gorgeous: five stories, roof top, sculptures, stores on the first level selling library related stuff. Impressive!
Many of the light posts downtown have attached to them various wind-powered gee gaws. Here is one. It is hard to point up and snap and not look like a tourist who needs to be mugged!
