Isn't all you need to know on the cover? Eric Carle's tissue paper and paint illustrations provide a fresh look at Aesop's tales in much the same way Arnold Lobel's retelling, FABLES. I love the illustration of the story of the Wolf and the Dog where the dog is dressed in a hat, choker, parasol, and gauzy dress with a pinafore over it. She is a true Southern Belle. Carle is a genius with collage and with his new interpretations of some old tales.
