I hit the road next week for 3 seminars on YA literature. Part of the 2008 presentation is a clip from You Tube where Sherman Alexie reads from his NBA winning novel about how the truly great books should give readers boners. I suspect that will lead to some discussion of censorship. The current issue of KNOWLEDGE QUEST, the journal of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), is dedicated to intellectual freedom and censorship. We need to speak up. So, do as John requests in the video and send a letter of support for LOOKING FOR ALASKA.
