Okay, this is it for me from Philly. The skyline is lovely, but it is time to retire to the boob tube position. One final book, another graphic novel for intermediate readers. KNIGHTS OF THE LUNCH TABLE: THE DODGEBALL CHRONICLES gives us Arthur King, new student at Camelot Middle School. The usual suspects are here: Mr. Merlynn is the science teacher; Percy (Percival, that is) becomes one of Arthur's friends the first day of school. The school is run by Mrs. Dagger, she of the 11 volume rule book with meanness to spare. Ading and abetting Dagger is the Horde, a bunch of Neanderthal dodgeball players. Arthur manages to open the secret locker, a locker that will provide him with what he needs to defeat the Horde and maybe Mrs. Dagger.
There is more here: allusions to lots of Arthurian characters and a few that seem to have escaped from Shakespeare as well. Quick and easy to read, this one is sure to be popular.
