adult book!

Just finished listening to THE MERMAID CHAIR by Sue Monk Kidd. I loved her first novel, THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES, so much. This book was satisfying, but I felt let down at the end a bit as I thought it was rushed. However, having said that, all the other elements that I loved in the first book are here, too. You have wonderful female characters, eccentric folks, glorious settings, stories within stories. Next up in audio is the Walter Mosely book, 47.

VOYA sent me an interesting YA book to review: THE WORLD OF ELDATERRA: THE DRAGON CONSPIRACY by P. R. Moredun. The story alternates between 1895 and 1910, though the two plot lines are (of course) connected. I enjoyed this book tremendously and think kids who love Bartimaeus and Potter and similar fantasies will also find some appeal here.

Off to finish teaching my YA lit class on campus.
