the hills are alive
OK, I just need to say that hearing Julie Andrews speak at the IRA conference was incredible. Dinner with her this evening was magical. I am starstruck. I am also elated to find someone who truly cares about books and reading and what we have to say about them both. For a bonus, I ran into Joan Bauer on the way out of the hotel and then Chris Crutcher was right behind her. This is my idea of heaven!!! Had a great day touring the exhibits and picking up tons of new books. I cannot wait for time to read--perhaps Wednesday. Stay tuned!

I have been a fan of hers since I was little. And not just because of the Sound of Music. I must say, THE LAST OF THE REALLY GREAT WHANGDOODLES was a cherished childhood favorite--I still have my copy from when I was six! Sounds like you're having a banner IRA!
