I am a professor of children's and YA literature in a Library Science department. Before that I taught middle school for many years. I am the author of numerous articles, chapters, columns, and a book (now 2 books, who woulda thought? and a 3rd book coming out in 2010)! My husband and I are raising three granddaughters ages 11, 13, and 18 (they want you to know they are now 16, 18 and 23). I am a licensed motorcyclist with no tattoos and, currently, no bike. In my spare time I love to walk, read, and talk about books. So far this school year, I have spoken to hundreds of kids and teachers about books.
