Book #39
Had time yesterday to read quite a few picture books at the office during my lunch break. Finished this one last night for a SIGNAL review:

GHOST IN THE MACHINE: RYAN'S JOURNAL by Patrick Carman (Scholastic, 2009) is a companion to his SKELETON CREEK. The form and format are the same: a journal (the type face looks like handwriting) and references to a web site with passwords relate the story of Ryan and Sarah who are targets now that they are seeking answers to the mysteries of the old dredge. The video footage at the web page are very Blair-witch-like with the handheld cam and shaky, dark installments. Ryan, partly sidelined due to a broken leg, is doing his best to help Sarah with research into a secret society. It is a good mystery for tweens and young teens.

Now, I get to finish my cold leftover VDay pizza for breakfast (veggies, protein, carbs: all there) and play with Scout who is already pushing the screen of the laptop down to get my attention. Will post later about the audiobook I finished last night on the drive home from work.

I like this series - and I actually liked this one better. My students are enjoying them as well.
