A Cinderella story

Paul Fleischman has taken pieces of this familiar tale from many variants and woven them into a seamless retelling of Cinderella. The illustrations also reflect the variety of cultures and countries represented. From the US to Mexico to Ireland, Africa, and Europe, this is a celebration of the strength of the oral tradition, Disney notwithstanding.

Students loved it!
I read this to my PreK - 3rd grade students a couple of weeks ago. They kept raising their hands to tell me each thing they heard that was different from the "real" Cinderella, as they put it. It kept their attention and has a waiting list for check out.
